The beginning of an ongoing series of sculptural works using bacon, caul fat, pig intsestine, potatoes as material, bodily stand in, sutures holding forms of flesh, smell activated
Bacon Wonders
Bacon as sculptural material is more durable than one might imagine 15 years after the construction of these pieces the fat has shrunk some but all remain well intact like a slightly greasy leather.
Omentum, or the lacey reticular fat that lines the abdomens of both humans and animals, is another fascinating material.
